Kantha blankets from India are a beautiful example of traditional textile art that repurposes vintage saris into cozy, vibrant quilts. The practice of making Kantha blankets involves layering old saris and then hand-stitching them together with a simple running stitch. This technique not only gives new life to the fabric but also results in a unique, sustainable product with a lot of character and history.
Please note that these blankets are made from vintage fabrics and therefor, on a quite rare occasion, small imperfections such as little color variations or small stitched up patches can occur. For us, this adds to the story and uniqueness of the item and it’s why we love them even more.
We hand-check every item before putting them up in the shop. All blankets are professionally cleaned. Kantha items can be washed up to 30 degrees, using a gentle detergent.
